The Local Church

A New Beginning

A Christian brother and sister, who met with the local church in Federal Way, WA, preached the gospel to me and I gladly received the Lord at the age of 20. This was a real new beginning for me.

I was so full of peace and joy, so full of the Lord Jesus. Also, I realized that all believers in Christ everywhere were in the same family, God's family. I loved the brothers as in I John 3:14. I lived in Bellevue, WA, so I attended meetings with the local church there. What a joy it was to meet with the believers where we enjoyed the Lord Jesus so much together.

I also loved God's word. A few months after receiving Jesus, I attended the Colossians Life-Study messages given by Witness Lee. I had never heard any one speak like he did. I was touched by his absoluteness for the Lord, his love for the Lord Jesus, his knowledge and understanding of God's word. He was a real pattern to me and I aspired to go on to know the Lord and His word the way he did. I read as many books by Witness Lee and Watchman Nee as I could. I also had the privilege of attending the twice-yearly Life-Study conferences given by Witness Lee.

Today, 20 years later, my husband and I and our three children are still enjoying the ministry of Witness Lee and Watchman Nee and are full of gratitude for their life and ministry. We meet with the church in Bellingham, WA and have the desire that according to 1 Timothy 2:4, “all men would be saved and come to the full knowledge of the truth.” May the Lord gain His heart's desire on the whole earth.
